i don’t think it’s selfish. it’s events like this that shape our views, and all we can do is relate to people and situations. when people remain unaffected by things that happen around them, that’s when they start taking things for granted.

Wow – how tragic. My heart goes out to the family.

I think it’s a natural reaction to compare it to your own situation. I certainly don’t think about people our age dying of heart attacks.
