Yesterday was M’s first day of school for the new school year. I took the morning off work and went with her.
There is a video that will be posted as soon as I have the time.

Our guest bed arrived today, just in time for Paul and Cornelia to test it out tomorrow night. Here is a picture of the bed with me on it. You may notice that I am wearing a bed helmet.
I am wearing a bed helmet because to move around in our basement is too risky without one. I have a couple of spare bed helmets so if there is more than one 180cm (or taller) tall person in the basement on the bed at the same time we are still golden.

We were at a first birthday party yesterday and the topic of vaccinations came up; luckily before one set of parents that have decided not to vaccinate their children turned up. Luckily because it would have gotten heated and maybe we would have had a problem when I laughed at them; I wouldn’t have been able to stop myself.
I do understand a healthy skepticism when viewing the drug companies, but to ignore the massive amount of evidence gathered by the medical profession since Edward Jenner’s time seems foolishly dangerous. I’m wondering how I would feel if an unvaccinated child made my child sick, because I think that’s what it comes down to.

There were a few cute videos taken in Sydney and this one is the best quality. Unfortunately one was washed out and another was blurry, so this is probably the only one worth posting at the moment.

How can you possibly justify sueing a sexual harrasser and company for 37 million dollars?
The guy is a scumbag and what he did is terrible, but 37 million dollars worth of terrible?

One advantage to being back in Beijing is the food vendors that start arriving around 11:00 am. We went down to the local mall to get coffee and on the way out I bought noodles for 5RMB, which is about 85 cents. When we got home the noodles were enough to feed all four of us and they were delicious.
I start work tomorrow and will have access to you tube and will be able to post some videos of the kids doing funny things. Luki jumping is the best one I think.

Yesterday we took the kids to a big indoor play centre called ‘Fundazzle’. It is in an old indoor swimming pool, and when I say ‘in’ I mean literally ‘in’ the pool! The deep end is the ball-pit and the rest of the climbing equipment etc is in the shallow end. Around the edges of the pool are some other arcade type games and activities for kids. It cost the equivalent of $6 per kid for 2 hours and it was pretty good, the kids really enjoyed it. I think we will enjoy it even more when Lukas doesn’t need to be followed around quite so closely.
Em sliding down into the ball-pit

Possibly the biggest ball-pit ever! But sadly parents (and I assume all adults) aren’t allowed in…Steve kept inching forward and then being told to come out!

Former diving boards located above the ball-pit. Probably not recommended to take a dive now!
